In squeeze-backports and testing, there's an "nginx-doc" [1] package
that contains some examples and other information for nginx [2]
configuration. If you are using Squeeze (Debian stable) I recommend
installing the backports version of nginx. It's best to be up-to-date
with packages like web servers, as they're often prone to security
fixes. Once "nginx-doc" is installed, you can find those files
in /usr/share/doc/nginx-doc.
The nginx website [3] also has a very helpful set of documentation in
an easy-to-read wiki format, as well as more exhaustive documentation
[4] on setting it up and its modules.
