That suggests that you are on Wheezy (testing) or Sid (unstable); which
one is it exactly? Is it fully up-to-date?

Please post the output of:
lspci -knn | grep -iA2 audio
cat /proc/asound/cards
lsmod | awk '/snd/{print $1}'
