Either. x1 would also be fine (if such a SAS HBA exists). I'd rather avoid x16.

At least 1 internal.

Either.  I need to connect to one internal SAS drive.


Pick from the cacheless LSI cards at Newegg.  They all work with Debian
6 "OOTB".

What is your definition of "out of the box" in this case?

The hardware is supported by the Debian installer.
