There are several ways to do that - easiest is probably aptoncd.

Aptoncd will generate an iso image of the .deb packages you used to
build an install.


Eg. Put your netinsall cd onto an USBstick.

1. Base install from USBstick
2. Finish building from internet/DVDs
3. aptoncd to create .iso image (on hard drive)
4. extract image to USBstick
5. cp other config files (+ dpkg --get-selections) to USBstick

You'd the have everything needed to rebuild that original install, with
very little else.

NOTE: aptoncd pulls in a few gnome packages (about 45MB)

You could also have a look at keryxproject.org which does a similar thing.
