Very unlikely. Currently, at least five quite different machines have
the same problem.

Yes, an aptitude safe-upgrade takes ages :( Now and then there comes a
quick burst of data, but overall it still takes overnight to get the
packages.

Again, more than five machines have the same problem. Two for example
are self assembled servers more than seven years old, one is a brand
new dell desktop. They don't have the same drivers.

What I forgot to mention: wireshark doesn't show any errors. Packages
are just coming in very slowly...
