One good one... fast and thorough is Forte Agents' usenet service:

Far as linux newsreaders... the absolute best I've used comes as a
bundled part of emacs called `gnus'

Complex, but well documented.   It's also an excellent mail reader, and
attempts to handle mail in the same ways as news is handled.

It allows you to have a first rate news reader and a first rate mail
client in one go... and it does a very thorough job of both.
