 Hi Ralf
If I start jackd from qjackctl I get the message "could not connect to server as client,
						overall operation failed"

However, I can start jackd as a user if I :-

richard@debian:~$ jackd -R -P 50 -t 9999 -d alsa -r 48000 -C hw:M66 -P hw:M66 -n4 -p 512 -s &

ALSA: use 4 periods for capture
ALSA: final selected sample format for playback: 32bit integer little-endian
ALSA: use 4 periods for playback

This is great because I can use the Alsa name of the card "M66" to acquire the right device.
If I try from qjackctl it will fail unless I start it as root.
I have put myself in group audio.

speaker-test -c2 -l5 -twav works OK with X running, I'll have to kill X and try it, but cant do it while
replying.
