Thanks to everyone who replied. I ended up by did deciding to install PulseAudio, and i think it will be fine. Right away things more or less worked, and i think that the tweeks i need to do to get it completely smooth, are possible. I hope it continues to be well integrated with Debian so it gets even easier.
