udevd errors exist in wheezy and sid but the only related errors on
Google are from 2004. These errors showed up here when /run was
introduced IIRC.


Do you have libmtp-runtime installed? I needed to install it to get rid
of those mtp-probe errors on my system. I don't know if it will fix your
cups problem or not, though.


No I didn't.  It looks like someone forgot a depends.

But it now throws another error.

It seems that with every new release of cups a new problem arises.

Thanks Kevin.  I do not think this is a purely cups problem as the udevd
errors thrown by the kernel are causing a large numbers of problems here.

No joy again, darn it.
