hardware virtualization is mainly dependent on the processor - if the
processor supports vt (or whatever), it'll work if not it won't.

for most advanced video card features on ati cards (ie, 3d) you'll
need to use their driver. their driver is 'free' but not 'open
source'. note, other than vmware fusion (mac), i don't think anyone
else does graphics acceleration within the virtual.


so, check the processor to make sure you've got one that supports hw
virtualization and that's about it. everything should 'just work' out
of the box except 3d which you'll probably need to install the ati
driver for (probably even get that out of the non-free repo now days).
