Browse to "/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/HDA-Audio-Models.txt.gz" and
try with any of models suggested for the selected codec (STAC92xx). You
can start with the generic ones (auto, ref) and then go with the rest.

I see neither "vaio" nor "sony" as possible values for that codec :-?

You can also take a look into "/usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/HDA-
Audio.txt.gz", under section "Speaker and Headphone Output" for any clue.

Additional questions:

1/ What is your DE (Gnome, KDE...)?
2/ What happens when you plug the headphone? Are you still getting audio
through the speaker or you simply get no audio at all?
3/ Have you properly setup all volume controls?

Greetings,
