Ehm? How do you have upgraded Lenny to Squeeze?
The right way is to change lenny > squeeze in your /etc/apt/sources.list
run 'apt-get update' and 'apt-get dist-upgrade' and here you will get
the right "mysql-server".

It seems you where not running
    apt-get dist-upgrade
so do it correctly!
