Hmm, I used to use KDE a long time ago, and, effectively, it has this
feature. I looked here, but GNOME does not seem to have this
specificity.

To be sure that my situation is well understood, here is a screenshot:

notice that buttons from the bottom are not shown, simply because the
window does not fit the screen. Most of windows are okay, but not this
one, for example.
