Use OpenDNS or google DNS. Don't rely on your ISP DNS, as most of them
don't know how to run them very well.

OK, I have ditched BT's DNS and switched over the OpenDNS. Hopefully that will help. After a bit of faffing I even have ddclient working although I guess that's unnecessary.
