In fact, if I rename /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/defaults.list, all works as
expected but I hesitate to do that.  I would rather change the search
priority but I have no idea where /usr/share/gnome/ is being added to
the search path.  It is not in XDG_DATA_DIRS.  Thanks - John
