Temporary deconnection from the Internet when too much pages are loaded

Hi,

If I open many (i.e. > 10, which is not that much) tabs in, say,
Iceweasel, my internet connection seems to freeze, i.e. nothing loads
anymore. My network outgoing traffic keeps staying at ~10 KiB/s, and I
need to wait some minutes (generally, less than 5 mins). Everything then
loads.

This happens preferentially with tabs containing videos. I have tried
other browsers, and the same problem arises. I am under a D-Link DIR-635
router, with:

==
this pc (LAN) ->router (WAN) -> outgoing
==

I tried various network configurations, and the problem seems to come
from my Debian (Lenny, w. kernel 2.26-2-686-bigmem).

Any idea? It does not _always_ happen.

Thanks.
