Any recommendations for such a router?

It does NOT support 802.11n, but I recommend:
Buffalo WHR-HP-G54
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833162134&cm_re=whr-hp-g54-_-33-162-134-_-Product

Based on my (limited) knowledge and experience, I can do better with this
router and a good antenna than with some draft 802.11n, largely because many
client devices do not support 802.11n.

The router is supported by several opensource firmwares, like Open-WRT, Tomato,
DD-WRT which provide greatly increased functionality.

TP-Link TL-WR1043ND -- supported by openwrt.

I'm hoping that there will soon be an up-to-date wiki regarding routers on the openwrt page. As of right now you need to catch a developer, or if you know how, check the source in trunk to figure out what is supported.

The TL-WR1043ND is definitely supported though.
