Does it hang on it and stops booting? I'm asking 'cos i had issues with swap a while ago, there was a message during boot, in red, that would say "failed to activate swap" or similar, but the boot process continued. Turns out i had a bunch of programs in /usr/sbin with no permissions at all, changing that solved this (and other) issues. HTH
