Mmmm... what is the output of "ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid/*"?

I am not sure that "vfat" and "ntfs" volumes can handle so easily "uuid". 
Maybe someone can confirm this point :-?

How did you format the memory card? I think "mkfs.vfat" should 
automatically set a "uuid" to the new filesystem.
