Sometimes, you know, sometimes, you don't.  However, most of the time, 
if you are too emotional yourself to notice, someone more detached will 
helpfully point it out.

(Was a big reader of news/Usenet, back in the day.  Haven't bothered 
with newsgroups in years and years.)
