Yup I've tried everything suggsted in this thread. Using an xorg.conf your
way didn't change anything. There is something wierd happening with the new installs as
Sarge didn't  have any  issue with the same laptop. I've read through the
Xorg.0.log and couldn't find any error messages.

Actually 'Xorg -configure' doesn't seem to do anything, however dexconfig
gave me a blank xorg.conf

Another strange thing is that when I run 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg' it
doesn't prompt me for any video or monitor information like it should. It
saves the config and drops me back to the shell after  asking keyboard
questions.

Any suggestions ?
