You should not have to downgrade Kmymoney2 to install the aqbanking
plugin:

$ dpkg -l kmymoney2* | awk '/^ii/{print $1,$2,$3}'
ii kmymoney2 0.9.3-1
ii kmymoney2-common 0.9.3-1
ii kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking 0.9.10-4

If you want to find out what went wrong, please post the output of:

apt-cache policy kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking

I now checked it again: With version 0.9.3-1 of kmymoney2 I can import
OFX files both via the aqbanking plugin and using kmymoney's own OFX
import filter. You can check two things: First, "Settings > Configure
AqBanking... > Backends" should list "aqofxconnect" if you have
plugin-aqbanking installed. Second, "Settings > Configure KMyMoney >
Plugins" should show that the "KMyMoney OFX" plugin is activated.
