Sorry didnt realise. 

The reason why I think that way is, that is wot had happened when I tried 'apt-cdrom add' on my friend's laptop.

I wud like to add the ISO image to the repository coz our network connection is very slow at office :-)  But am not sure whether that is the right way to do it.

Why do you think that?

from man apt-cdrom:

I think that this is what apt-cdrom does. (I don't use apt-cdrom myself,
though, I install from the online resources.)
