suggest to boot with the pci=nomsi kernel parameter (F6 in Ubuntu I
think to edit boot parameters). But according to this blog, expect
others problems after that.
This is suppose to fix: The SATA hard drive was not recognized during
the install.

Many says that you are better to use lilo than grub with this computer.

http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=86689 suggest to use:
irqpoll psi=nomsi pci=noacpi nolapic noapic
but maybe this in too much restrictive.
