Re: problems activating wireless

hi,

probably a silly question, but is the device actually activated? i see the same lsmod output even with the same wifi card deactivated by the so called kill-switch (it's turned off by a hardware switch).

when the card is deactivated i am getting (dmesg | grep ipw)

ipw3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.1.2dmpr
ipw3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2006 Intel Corporation
ipw3945: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
ipw3945: Radio Frequency Kill Switch is On:

and also this message

Kill switch must be turned off for wireless networking to work.

is the regulatory daemon running (ipw3945d)? it should be written in /var/log/boot

Loading kernel module ipw3945.
Starting ipw3945 regulatory daemon: ipw3945d.

best,
