Above does not look right! E.g. a 'ping -b 10.1.1.255', where does it
end up; eth0 or eth1?

Simpler is to use ip from different ranges, or use proper masking. Read
into how networking and routing works.

But how are the Windows communicating, through IP or Samba (not Samba
over IP obviously).
