Hi,

what's a good web browser that doesn't need so much memory? I have the
same group of tabs open in each browser to compare memory useage:

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
lee 24253 3.0 3.7 138688 77252 tty1 Sl 01:14 0:06 iceape-bin lee 24234 2.0 3.3 183252 69584 pts/4 Sl+ 01:11 0:07 epiphany-browser lee 24302 16.1 3.8 193536 80796 pts/6 Sl+ 01:21 0:04 /usr/lib/iceweasel/firefox-bin -a iceweasel

For some reason, firefox always defaults to iceweasel (even when
started as /usr/bin/firefox).

Anyway, all these browsers use a lot of memory. I've been using Mozilla
(iceape) for years and lately stuck to it only because I needed the
built-in mail client. Now I have replaced the mail client with claws,
and I'm curious if there is another nice browser that doesn't need so
much memory.

Emmmmm, Opera?

Opera also has a mail client build in...
