aptitude dying?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi all,

on my etch I 'suddenly' get a very funny behaviour when running aptitude:

11:36:30-jw@johannes2:~$ aptitude search pppoe
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
  what():  St9bad_alloc
Aborted
11:44:22-jw@johannes2:~$ aptitude
Ouch!  Got SIGABRT, dying..
Aborted

This is as ordinary user. As root - very fortunately - everything is
fine. I just realize that it also works on xterm, the errors are
reported when on konsole... Maybe I have to rm some .kde stuff.

That's really nasty.

I have no idea what could be messed up here.

Thanks for help ;-)
