SUMMARY
According to the outputs from lsmod below, the net
effect of alsaconf is to remove snd_hda_intel. So,
unless there is more specific advice, I should find how
to prevent loading of snd_hda_intel at startup.
Odd that removing snd_hda_intel makes sound work!
