exim: frozen messages

In my exim4/mainlog I see numerous errors/warnings such as

These are from the start of the log but they continue up to the current
day, albeit for different message IDs.

I've no user 'mbane' on the machine (ratty) so how can I unfreeze these
messages and work out where they're coming from?

Cheers, Michael
