I would suggest turning off multipathing to setup/install and then turn
it on afterwards.

It is possible , I don't think the deb install can handle it.

But step are.

install base os on a single pathed lun
setup multipathd to another lun
partition up with
part 1 ~500M boot
part 2 ~10-20G /
part 3 <some size> as swap

size are suggestion, keep this lun simple with just the core OS, make
sure to use label!

make the another lun( or luns) as data

reboot and make sure multipathd is working in your initrd

copy you working system image across to the multipathed lun - don't
forget to install grub on there.


This is not a process for the faint of heart, but it can be done, I have
done it a few times
