Please check if popfile service is running.
jk@jk:~$ ps -ef | grep popfile
popfile 11528 1 0 13:41 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/perl
/usr/share/popfile/popfile.pl --set config_piddir=/var/run/popfile/
--set logger_logdir=/var/log/popfile/
jk 11649 11627 0 13:44 pts/5 00:00:00 grep popfile
jk@jk:~$
If a popfile service is not present, then your upgrade has caused
popfile to crash.
In that case, you can try removing /var/run/popfile directory and then
remove popfile package.
But please verify the side-effects of removing /var/run/popfile. I
don't know what all will be lost. Make sure there is no useful
information in that directory.
