- From the sound of it I'd say the problem you are running into has little
to do with RAID, much less with LVM. It sounds as though you need to
figure out the right boot device order from the BIOS. As a test you
could always do a "plain" install (no RAID or LVM), you'll probably get
the same error. I'm a bit surprised that your primary hard disk is
/dev/sdc.. what are /dev/sda and /dev/sdb?

The BIOS does not need to see a RAID array, nor does grub: as far as
they are concerned they are just booting from a normal disk (your
/dev/sdc). Software RAID in Linux is implemented in such a way that you
can directly access one of the devices and it just works. BIOS/grub are
unaware of the fact that /dev/sdd contains the same information.
