On other laptops it will be different. I guess it depends on the driver
supplied by the manufacturer / developed by volunteers.
My thinkpad doesn't have a 'mail led' and I've never heard of thinkpads
with leds.
It would probably be the best to ask the manufacturer of the laptop in
question about specifications/drivers.
