I have:
nameserver 64.105.189.27
nameserver 64.105.179.139
(has always worked for me)

Doesn't make any difference.

> getent hosts security.debian.org
> getent hosts www.google.com

Those return the expected results!
The problem seems to be specific to apt-get and aptitude.
