pam_unix.so?I haven't a clue where pam_pwdfile.so is from - try a dpkg -S. I checked on http://packages.debian.org and couldn't find a reference to it either. Is this referenced in /etc/pam.d/common-passwd? Are you using shadow passwords? I've got
