yes it is

 id Debian-exim
uid=102(Debian-exim) gid=102(Debian-exim) groups=102(Debian-exim)
alex@hufpuf:~$ getent passwd Debian-exim
Debian-exim:x:102:102::/var/spool/exim4:/bin/false

but ps -ef | grep [e]xim4

102      17865     1  0 02:00 ?        00:00:00 /usr/sbin/exim4 -bd
-q30m

I also have libnss-ldap in play as well.
