Hi there, I am sorry I haven't replied. Anyways it looks like its a CD related problem. Did you burn it to a CDRW? What software did you use to burn it? I am using an older PowerBook G4 500MHz and I did not have to do anything special or copy any files to the root HD. I simply burned the etch netinstall cd and booted from it. Try burning it at 8x to a regular CDR using DiskUtility that comes with OS X. Good luck, Amit
