Ever considered getting one of the free email addresses?  That would
solve your problem as the storage on the major accounts is sufficient
for you to only fetch the mail once a week.  If you want a gmail invite,
just send me a private mail and I will give you one.  Of course, gmail
accounts have a tendency to fill with spam, but google does a pretty
good job of filtering it.
