file showing wrong information ?
Hi all,
I have this partition table in my system
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Disk /dev/hda: 100.0 GB, 100030242816 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 12161 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 12 96358+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda2 13 134 979965 82 Linux swap /
Solaris
/dev/hda3 135 12161 96606877+ 8e Linux LVM
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
But when i do a file on the hda1 partition, it says its an LVM
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
$ sudo file -s /dev/hda1
/dev/hda1: LVM2 (Linux Logical Volume Manager) , UUID:
GzJ8F13ynmOOgrGdfJ34qXfWFHyGKmu
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I am sure that i have not created a PV in that partition and it is
my /boot file system mounted properly as below
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
$ mount |grep hda1
/dev/hda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The box said "Requires Windows 95, NT, or better", so I installed Linux.
