see remaining ink in the cartridge (toner status)

Hi Debian Users

I own a Dell 1100 Laser Printer (uses internally the Samsung
ML-1020 drivers). Printing works fine with CUPS.

How to I display the remaining ink in the cartridge? How to view other
status information about the printer?
