Re: Fileserver Issues

Thanks for reviewing this and providing feedback, Doug and Martin. I
didn't actually get the messages until just now as it seems the replys
in gmail tacks on to the message from the "sent" folder, silly me
looking in the inbox for a new message ;-)

Anyway, long story short Martin was right, it was an issue with either
the motherboard or the video card causing the motherboard to do weird
things. I plugged the array into a different machine and copied 20gb
of data with no issues. Plugged the drives back into the machine in
question and got another kernel panic half way (something about the
cpu rescheduler watchdog noticing nothing new being added to the
queue?)

Anyway, I think the mdadm hiccup I mentioned was just a pebcak error.
I was using the add instead of re-add which made cat /proc/mdstat show
two instances of the same drive in the array and mdadm refused to
re-sync the newer drive.

Crisis averted, thanks again,
Nathan.
