There are many ranks of soldier, from Private to Sergeant Major of
the Army. (That's the US Army. Others will have something similar.)

Do you know well any other programming languages? Are you a
"soldier" in any of them?

If so, then you'll know when you are a "C soldier".

If not, i.e. you are a programming newbie, then It All Depends.

Learning the language is not that hard. But C is, but design, just
as flexible as Assembly. There are a jillion different tricks,
tactics and techniques for doing just about everything, and there
are a bunch which are Too Clever and would get you fired if I were
your boss.
