re: risk assessment for old toolbox

I installed Woody in Feb. 2001 and ran without a firewall or update
'til this past Dec. when I saw something to make me think I'd been
hacked. It took me a few months and a lot of study to prove I hadn't.
I'm on dialup and pop3 and browsing is my only exposure.

I've a Pentium MMX box with 256MB memory and an old Trident tvga8900b
video board that Xorg has dropped.
I'm running Etch using the Woody xserver-svga_3.3.6 and support libs.
Had to do the same thing in Sarge and Slackware 11.0.

Mike
