there is support for some 10g cards in linux kernel...

I'm not using any, but in kernel sources there are some:

Chelsio 10Gb Ethernet support
Intel(R) PRO/10GbE support
S2IO 10Gbe XFrame NIC
Myricom Myri-10G Ethernet support
