These are both kernel threads (as you can see from ps output where such
threads are printed in [brackets]) so yuo have to recompile your kernel
to get rid of them. But I don't know exactly which kernel options are
involved and how much memory disabling them would save.

I think my biggest win is going to be ditching openssh :)
