Fans:
are they all functional?
Cooling:
Does the box get cool air for the fans to move?
Are the internals clean?
Power supply:
Clean? Disk drives pull juice. If the drive is overloading the
PSU, the disk stops, power is restored, and things carry on.
Does its fan work?
Memory:
Are there any other problems? Do you have spare memory to swap
in?
Connectors:
Are all cards and sockets clean and seated?
Drive:
Is it a problem just with this drive? Do you have a spare one
on which you can place a minimal Etch and do the same test?
Good luck,
Doug.
