Sorry Doug, I jumped into the middle of this thread, but since I'm here, I might as well. Do you need a domain name? don't think so. several of my boxes have only a hostname and they work just fine. So, I think the answer to the general question is no. Now for specific applications, probably yes. hth, and now I'm really butting out. A
