Thanks all! I tried adding
unclutter -root &
to .xsession, but that didn't work out. So I put
[startup]{unclutter -root &}
in my fluxbox apps file, and I'm off to the races.
I've been thinking about this for a while, but thought it too trivial
to do anything about. Glad I asked!
