hda:lost interrupt!!!

hi all,
I had a perfect debian installation and as i boot up i am getting the
error messsage
hda:lost interrupt
hda:DMA interrupt recovery
hda:dma_timer_expiry:dma status == 0x24
these three messages are coming in loop each taking some time :(
mine is an intel pentium D processor and HDD is a 40gb seagate of
model ST340810A
i had a working copy of ubuntu 6.10 which stopped working as i
installed debian etch, asking for repairing the system manually(that
thing skipped by pressing CTRL-D) and then as i login through the
login screen it comes again after 2-3 flashes..but i am successful in
entering through the textconsole(i.e.tty1 thru 6).i gone for a
recovery of ubuntu 6.10 at the grub option and that also showed the
error hda:lost interrupt
normally when ubuntu 6.10 was working,it started by showing the message
BIOS bug no explicit IRQ entries, using default mptable(tell ur hw ventor)
AFTER ALL THESE i am now from ubuntu 6.06 which installed today
morning without any problem.
I have the HDD paritions,hda1,hda7,hda10,hda9,hda6 and hda8 as swap parition
is the problems with this uncontinous nubering of partitions??
and i had the same problem even before ebian etch way(i.e some2-3
months before)when i tried to install debian then
PLEASE HELP ME TO ENTER THE WORLD OF DEBIAN:)thank you for your time
